Issues With AZV Care In Aruba Dwight Barran

Dear Sirs, Madams of 989.9 Cool FM Aruba,
My name is Dwight Barran born Aruba 30/12/52 and returned after some four plus decades being a pensioner I felt to return to the country of my nativity and to assist my 87 year old Aunt here.
I was assigned Dr. Essendaal by the AZV office when I went to inscribe for that card.
Yesterday evening after my wife left work she complained of a severe pain in the neck and I took her to the HOH emergency dept.
We were told to go to the Doctor on duty after which he described a blood pressure of 159 over 95 which when I checked that on the internet it indicated that this was very high. This Dr told me to go to my house Dr. This morning I called Essendaal and the receptionist there was in first instance rude, unmannerly, abrupt and has an attitude. So I swore at her after which she hung up on me. I proceeded to call again but there was no answer. I personally went to the office and confronted her and met again with arrogance and unmannerly behavior with a worse attitude that on the phone. Dr. Essendaal then came out of his office and to my surprise didn’t ask what was wrong but told me not to make any remarks and to be quiet, I told him that I need medical attention but he said that I should look for another Dr. Is this how patients are treated here?
Who makes appointments with sicknesses, accidents, flues and or any other ailment? Then you have to call and get an appointment which is either a week or two later by that time the patient might have passed away or worse than the day of the medical complaint.
Several patients sitting in the waiting room concurred with me about the medical system which is NOT conducive to good and proper medical assistance and or care.
Now I have to look for another Dr while my wife is suffering from extreme blood pressure. I would have preferred to be interviewed by one of your staff in order to answer any questions you may have.
All in all it is clear to see that Aruba’s medical system leaves much to be desired of. It is NOT a system in benefit of the patient in no way manner or form.
I am ashamed of Aruba’s medical system and trust that someday, somehow, somebody and somewhere this awkward and malignant system will be corrected and or abolished and a new and better more effective treatment, care and patient friendly call-in system with qualified receptionist with phone etiquette will be employed to guarantee the ill with effective and customer/patient related service.
Finally, this malice will continue until Arubans stop complaining among themselves and unite in one front to confront and demand changes in this weird and worthless medical system.
