ANGUILLA POLICE ARREST 7 PERSONS FOR VARIOUS OFFENCES
Force on Saturday 16th July arrested and charged one person of Sandy Hill for possession of cannabis and Sunday 17th July and another person of South Hill for a similar offence.
The alleged offenders appeared before the Magistrate’s Court on Monday 18th July, 2016 charged with the said offences. One was bailed in the sum of EC $15000.00 with one surety and the other in the sum of EC $10,000.00 with one surety. Both offenders are due back to court on Monday 5th September.
The Police on Sunday 17th July also arrested and charged two persons of The Forest for obstruction , assault ,resisting arrest and evading customs duties. One of them was also charged with four traffic offences.
They appeared before the Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday 19th July. One was bailed in the sum of EC $15000.00 with one surety and the other in the sum of EC $5,000.00 cash with one surety. Both offenders are due back in court on Tuesday 30th August.
Three persons of Blowing Point, East End and South Hill were arrested on Saturday, 19th July. One was charged with attempted murder and is due back in the Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 28th November; one with assault, obstruction and omission to duty resulting in harm and was due back in court on Wednesday, July 20th; and the other with omission to duty resulting in harm. They were all remanded at Her Majesty’s Prison.
